My Go To Christmas Songs And Movies

Now is the time we all get into the holiday spirit and for me especially I like to get into the spirit by listening to Christmas music and  watching Christmas movies in a cozy sweater with a nice cup of chocolate Abuleita and some pan dulce or buenelos (if you grew up in a hispanic home you know exactly what in talking about)
Honestly, I like to listen to Christmas music all year round just because when you listen to it it brings out the feeling of holidays.

Mariah Carey- All I Want for Christmas

Undoubtedly a Christmas classic of the 90's. I mean you can't tell me if you listen to those first notes, you don't immediately stop everything and when that piano solo drops you just belt it out.

Alivin and the Chipmunks- The Christmas Song

As a kid I used to love watching the old Chipmunks cartoons and obviously listening to this version brings back a lot of memories.

 *NSYNC-O Holy Night

The bands accapella cover of this classic never fails to give me goosebumps.

Baby It's Cold Outside (Glee cover)

As a gleek this is probably one of my favorite covers the show had done #Klaine

Wham!-Last Christmas

Can't go  wrong with this 80's classic!

Pentonix (feat. Tori Kelly)-Winter Wonderland/Don't Worry Be Happy

Not only does this song have two of my favorite artist, but this mash up is laid back and happy all at the same time!

Darren Criss-Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (cover)

I mean who doesn't like a little Darren Criss during the holiday season?

Michael Buble-It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

It's not Christmas without  a little Michael Buble

Cant't forget these classics....

Bing Crosby-White Christmas

Frank Sinatera-Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Elvis Presley-Blue Christmas

Nat King Cole-The Christmas Song

Feliz Navidad-Jose Feliciano

Brenda Lee- Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree

Rodolph The Red Nose Reindeer

Frosty The Snowman

And for those blistering cold and snowy days where you just stay in and watch movies to get you in the festive spirit

Elf (2003)

This is by far the most quotable holiday movie in years! Will Farrel is hilarious as buddy the elf who discovers he isn't an elf and heads off to New York to find his biological father, while also discovering the real world.

Love Actually (2003)

I don't know about you, but I love a good rom-com and if it's a holiday based one, I'm there! Love Actually has a star studded cast portraying people falling in love in different perspectives during the holidays that will make you laugh and cry. From young love, to falling out of love, it's perfect for any rom-com lover to watch during the holidays!

The Holiday (2006)

Another one of my favorite rom-com's is this film about two woman from opposite ends of the world wanting to get away for the holidays after their break ups for a fresh new start. Jude Law also plays a widowed dad of two daughters because we all need a little Jude Law in our lives, amirite ladies?

Home Alone (1990)

I think all of us at one point dreamed of what we would do if we were left home alone for a week as kids. Eat what we wanted, watched what we wanted, staying up as late as we wanted, while doing what we want with no adults to yell at us. Kevin Mcallister was living the dream until it ended up in a pretty wild and hilarious goose chase.

There's a new web series based on Kevin as an adult in celebration of the 25 anniversary of the film CLICK HERE

The Santa Clause (1994)

Another classic holiday film for any 90's kid! Tim Allen (who was very big in the 90's FYI) plays a newly divorced dad who accidentally causes Santa to fall off the roof. His son convinces him to help deliver presents, but got more than he bargained for when he becomes the new Santa. Since then there have been 3 in the trilogy.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)

This is by far a must see holiday movie! Even though it has been made into a live action  movie, nothing beats the classic tale of Dr. Suess' holiday book!

A Muppets Christmas Carol (1992)

A spin on the classic story of "A Christmas Carol" with Kermit The Frog and the Muppets because who doesn't love the Muppets?

A Christmas Story (1983)

Another quotable and memorable movies during the holiday season! This movie is as big today than ever (some channels even play it on a loop on Christmas day). From the famous leg lamp to proving mom's can be a little too overprotective sometimes, it's a cult classic that will live on for generations. But most importantly, we learn never to put our tongues on a freezing post even on a triple dog dare.

Just Friends (2005)

This movie isn't technically a Christmas movie, but it's set during Christmas (it still counts, right?). It's basically about a guy who used to be a loser in high school and it fast forwards ten years later when he's lost weight, a big shot record producer and a ladies man. He ends up stranded in his home town with his over the top popstar client (played by Anna Faris) and reconnects with the girl of his dreams. It's hilarious and Ryan Reynolds is eye candy, even a fat suit.

Tell me what your favorite movies/songs get you into the holiday mood down in the comment section!!

Happy Holidays!
